Under the 2023-2027 Department of Excellence project, the Department of Mathematics of the University of Pisa seeks to hire an outstanding associated professor (with tenure) to strengthen the growing research and educational activities of its Mathematical Physics research sector, broadly defined, with the start date of October 1, 2024. The successful candidate will carry out research of international relevance and significance, with a particular emphasis on the studies of complex systems in the physical and life sciences, both from the theoretical and applied viewpoints, including, but not limited to, studies of dynamical systems and partial differential equations arising in the above contexts. This position is co-funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research.

The conference “Numeration 2024” will take place from June 3th to June 7th, 2024 in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The invited speakers are Eda Cesaratto, Derong Kong, Sébastien Labbé, Joseph Vandehey, Reem Yassawi and Hans Zantema.

The conference “New Frontiers in Parabolic Dynamics and Renormalization” will take place from June 24th to June 28th, 2024 at the University of Bologna, Italy. In addition to showcasing recent developments, the conference will celebrate Giovanni Forni’s contributions to the field on the occasion of his 60th birthday.

The Università di Roma Tor Vergata has opened a call for a two-year postdoc position in the field of dynamical systems. The position carries a salary of 34000 euros per year, before taxes.

The Department of Mathematics at KTH (Royal Institute of Technology) announces their second Master Class in Dynamical Systems, which will be held in Stockholm from May 20 to May 24, 2024.

The Master class consists of three courses, 5 lectures each:

“Partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms and group actions”, by Danijela Damjanovic (KTH) and Amie Wilkinson (University of Chicago);
“Geometric methods in Arnold diffusion: old and new results”, by Tere Seara (Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya);
“Conjugacy classes of real analytic maps”, by Sebastian Van Strien (Imperial College).

The Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral scholarship position in the field of dynamical systems. The position is founded by the Trygger Foundation and the candidate is expected to interact with Liviana Palmisano and Danijela Damjanovic.

A 18-month postdoc position (assegno di ricerca) is available at the Department of Mathematics “Tullio Levi-Civita” of the University of Padova, within the PRIN project “Stability in Hamiltonian Dynamics and Beyond”.

The postdoc will work on the topics of the project, particularly on: Hamiltonian and non Hamiltonian (e.g., nonholonomic, conformally symplectic, almost-symplectic) systems, including integrability and (extensions of) KAM and Nekhoroshev theories. Billiards and billiard-like systems, including their connection with symplectic topology. Dynamics and stability properties of Hamiltonian dynamical systems with singular potentials, including vortices. Convergence to attractors in dissipative systems.

The Department of Mathematics of Università di Pisa has opened a call for one 2-year postdoctoral position denominated “Stochastic properties of dynamical systems”.

The position is expected to start no later than July 2024.
