The Department of Mathematics of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam welcomes applications for a three-year Postdoctoral position in Dynamical Systems, including (but not limited to) computational dynamics, data driven dynamics, network dynamics and evolutionary PDEs.

Preference will be given to candidates who can connect to existing research strengths in the department. The preferred starting date is 1 September 2021, or before.

The Institut de Mathématiques de Jussieu-Paris Rive Gauche will offer one post-doctoral position in the field of in the field of differentiable dynamical systems (bifurcation theory, parameter selection, hyperbolicity, fractal geometry) starting September 1, 2021.

This is a two-year post-doctoral position funded by the European Research Council (PI: Pierre Berger) via the French CNRS.

The Scuola Normale Superiore announces a selection for 5 post-doc research positions named “Junior Visiting Positions”. The positions will concern the following subject matters:

A 12-month postdoctoral research position in Mathematics is now open within the MCNP (Mathematics of Complex and Nonlinear Phenomena) group in the Department of Mathematics, Physics and Electrical Engineering Northumbria University Newcastle.

Prof. Anke Paul at the University of Bremen advertises a position for a doctoral researcher (a.k.a. Ph.D. student), starting April 2021 or later. The position is a standard university position (proper employment, E 13 TV-L, 50%), fixed for 3 years. It comes with very light teaching duties.

The research group on Multiscale and Stochastic Dynamics at the Technical University of Munich, coordinated by Prof. Christian Kuehn, seeks candidates for a 3-year doctoral researcher position within the newly funded MSCA ITN CriticalEarth.

Interested candidates should have a background in at least one of the following areas: Dynamical Systems, Stochastic Processes, Scientific Computing or PDE.

The main application deadline is January 31st 2021, though evaluation of applications may start immediately.

The Department of Mathematics of Università di Bologna has opened a call for two 1-year postdoctoral positions denominated “Starting postdoctoral position in Mathematics and Applications in Sciences, Social Sciences and Engineering”.

The positions are open to all candidates who hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or Economics, with a preference for applicants who have obtained their Ph.D.’s in recent years.  They are “open” positions in that all research areas that are currently represented in the Department will be considered (see the announcement for a list of them).

Postdoc position

The Department of Mathematics at Heidelberg University invites applications for one or more postdoctoral positions in mathematics within the newly founded Research Station Geometry and Dynamics at the Mathematical Institute of Heidelberg University, starting in the fall of 2021. The duration of the appointment is 2 years with a possible extension for a third year if funding is available.

The research station bundles fundamental research activities in geometry and dynamical systems and promotes interaction of these fields with other science, as well as with society. It provides a very active, diverse and stimulating research environment. The postdoctoral researcher will have access to funding for travel, conferences and visitors. Faculty members involved in the research station are: Peter Albers, Gabriele Benedetti, Beatrice Pozzetti, Jan Swoboda, and Anna Wienhard. They are joined by a diverse and active group of postdocs and PhD students.
